This one’s all about freights! And it certainly won’t be the last.</p><p>For decades now, freight train graffiti in the United States has been a way for artists to stay connected and be seen, whether they live in small, rural towns or big cities. For Atlanta writers specifically, freights are a large part of our background, given the city’s storied history with the commercial rail industry and the sheer amount of tracks.</p><p>The sheer size, weight and noise associated with these steel giants will humble anyone. While its certainly been a pressing issue for many online lately, graffiti has been around Japan for about three decades now. Magazines like Burst, Kaze and HSM documented the early days in numerous issues and features.</p><p>Currently, Japanese graffiti seen around the major cities like Tokyo and Osaka is very raw and aggressive. Long before I started Jaguar Books &amp; Collectibles, I worked for many different tattoo magazines and local culture newspapers as a photographer, writer and sometimes editor. Even before that time period, my obsession with graffiti - the classic throwies, burners, stylized tags and especially freight train graffiti - was constantly growing. It only made sense that I found myself photographing the pieces around me on an almost-daily basis. </span></p><p><span style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); color: rgba(18, 18, 18, 0.75);">Writers Block will serve as a way to preserve in print a lot of the temporary art we see every day.
